Bishop David Oyedepo came into this world or was born on September 27, 1954 in Osogbo
metropolis, Bishop David Oyedepo hails from Omu Aran, Kwara he is from a
religiously mixed family as showned in his official life history: Bishop
David Oyedepo's father name is Ibrahim,he was a Muslim healer and his
mother named
Dorcas was a member of the Eternal Order of the Cherubim and
Seraphim Movement (C&S), a branch of the Aladura church in Nigeria.Bishop oyedepo
was brought up by his grandmother in Osogbo community, It was Bishop David
Oyedepo grand motherwho nurtured him in Christian life via the early
morning prayers which she attended with him everyday. She also taught him the
importance of tithing.

David gave his life to christ “born again” in early 1969 through the help of
his teacher name wetheld, who took
special interest in him during his high school years. He was said to have
studied architecture at Kwara State Polytechnic and worked briefly with the
Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin also before resigning to go fully into the
ministery or missionary work. Oyedepo alsogot his Ph.D in Human Development
from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United States of America.
Bishop Oyedepo got a mandate from God through/with the aid of an 18 hour long vision in May 1981 to save the world from all forms of oppression of the devil by preaching of the word of the lord.This is the unambigious vision that led to the establishment/founding of the Living Faith Church World Wide first called Liberation Faith Hour Ministries, in 1981 before it was later changed.

Five years after to be precise, david Oyedepo was ordained a Bishop and to be the fore runner.
Living Faith Church well known as Winners Chapel tookoff in Kaduna, but later moved to Lagos, former capital of Nigeria in September 1989 to commence a new branch of the Church, after receiving an instruction from God to reach out and connect to the population in Lagos and the world as well.

The hurriness of the construction of Faith Tabernacle was breath-taking, pondering the size of the building. Construction of this mighty and largeproject was completed within 12 months that's a year, which experts claim could only have been a miracle, because such a project should normally take a minimum of three years to complete. Reports also claimed that this building was built debt free.This 50,000-seat edifice was dedicated on September 18, 1999 under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo then former Mr president.
